    Special Forces

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,”

    Ephesians 6:10-12

It should not take the Believer long to realize that we are co-existing in two worlds are once. There is the world of social order and there is the Kingdom of Almighty God. The Bible plainly states that we live in both but do not belong to both. The Bible also says we should not love this world (system). We should love the King (Jesus) and His Kingdom.

By accepting Christ as our Savior, we became the children of God, the family of God, heirs of righteousness and citizens of God’s Kingdom. At the same time we accepted Christ as our Lord we also enlisted in the Army of God to defend and increase His Kingdom. We are to take on the whole Armor of God and fight the good fight of faith.

Armor is a military term. Every Soldier knows there are times of war and times of peace. They also know a Soldier must be alert and ready to fight and defend the Kingdom at a moments notice. One of the great things about being in God’s Army is the benefits, blessings, and favor that flow into our lives. And the retirement plan is simply out of this world!

God’s Army has a military structure. Allow me to show you how a military functions...

    1.  Made up of ranks and positions. There are Generals, Lieutenants, Captains,
Sergeants, Admirals, first class, second class and so on. Each position is due to training, responsibility, maturity and wisdom. You do not start out a General but as a trainee. As you learn you progress in position. God has placed His children in different positions depending upon their talents, abilities, wisdom and obedience.
    2.  Authority is understood, respected and followed. Opinion carries little weight in the military. When authority is rebelled against there are prices to be paid. Disobedience in the military can bring punishment and even a military discharge. When we fail to respect those in authority we to bring punishment upon ourselves. God has placed people over us to help us grow and mature.
    3.  Everyone knows what is required of them. If we fail to word together then we all suffer. An Army works as one. When someone does not do their job someone else can be hurt as a result. Everyone is needed to make the WHOLE work as it was intended to work. It is the same with the Body of Christ. Things flow smoothly when everyone works together.
    4.  Victory and Survival is a Team effort. Unity is a powerful force. It allows people to feel they are a part of something bigger than themselves. Loneliness is a dangerous enemy. A Team wins together and they loss together. We are on the winning Team but we must all do our part. When a person sacks off it causes someone else to shoulder more of the load.
    5.  No Lone Rangers in the Military. This is not a one man show. Too many people have tried to do ministry by themselves. Our bodies are made up of many parts and so is the Body of Christ. Every part is important. Generals do not win wars by themselves. God expects us to work together to defeat the enemies. Even the Lone Ranger has Tonto.

God has a mighty Army in Jesus Christ. He will not allow His Army of Righteousness to be defeated. He is our Strength, our Shield and our High Tower. We can expect to be promoted when we are obedient to God’s command. Faithful Soldiers are honored and rewarded. We are not just saved from sin. We are sanctified (set apart) to accomplish mighty things by the Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit of God.

Fight the good fight of Faith my friends. The victory is ours for the taking. Satan does not have a chance against the mighty forces of our God. Just remember who and whose you are. You are in the Special Forces.
